Employment Services
We address employment needs on an individualized basis. Youth ages 15 to 21 learn the employment process through life skills building, as well as pre-employment and job retention skills training. Youth are referred to good and meaningful jobs within their own communities.
Resume Writing
We work with youth directly to develop a quality resume. We take the time to get to know each participant- their strengths, skills, education, extracurricular activities and experiences to create a resume that will highlight their skills to prospective employers.
Application Writing
Whether the application is submitted online or in person, we understand the application is the first stage in weeding out employable candidates and so our goal is to walk our participants through the application process ensuring the opportunity for an interview with prospective employers.
Strategies for Effective Interviewing
We teach participants how to improve their interview techniques by anticipating potential questions and developing responses. We offer one-on-one coaching sessions prior to attending their interviews.
Conflict Resolution
We teach participants how to resolve conflict at the lowest level with various techniques and activities that encourage mediation, communication, self-reflection and accountability.
Dressing for Success
We teach participants the do's and don'ts when dressing for interviews and beyond.
We understand that business attire has changed significantly over the years however, first impressions are everything and we only get one chance to make a positive first impression.
Employment Resources
We link participants to prospective employers via email blast and job postings boards within our organization.
