Project Intervention

Project Intervention allows youth to express themselves freely. It exposes the truth about life complications while re-establishing personal accountability into real life circumstances and situations. We accomplish this by using various hands-on demonstrations in our life classes to create an environment comfortable for youth to express themselves and reconnect emotionally while acknowledging their concerns and controversies with an honest outlook. These workshops are intended for youth who are 13 to 21 in age.

The Intervention

The Intervention is a workshop that educates youth on the risks of unprotected sex and to use safer sex practices. Participants are taken through real life scenarios, using hands on demonstrations to help empower and motivate the youth to make STD prevention their choice as well as emphasizing the benefits of thinking before acting.

The Inside Factor

The Inside Factor focuses solely on building self-esteem and self-portrayal. This session includes hands on activities, role playing demonstrations of real life situations or conversations, storytelling and applicable activities such as reading aloud a book excerpts of youth who talk about their experiences that perpetuate our current cultural stigmas.

Real Talk

Real Talk is an inquiry-based open forum session that deals with relationships, dating, gender roles, and insecurities in relationships and love. This session is facilitated by a panel of expert advisors where real talk, real emotions and real feedback on real life issues are discussed. Participants are able to ask questions, talk freely and present opinions, and deal with important pressing day to day issues they might be facing.

The Perspective

In this session, youth will be given tools to help them utilize the knowledge they obtained in the previous sessions. Participants will be able to give their feedback on what they are taking away from Team Up and how they will apply what they have learned moving forward. Participants will be encouraged to look inside themselves, seek out their perspective and feel good about their progress. Surveys will be given to the participants during this session to assess the overall program objectives.
